For 30 years, Björn worked as supervising producer, executive producer and consultant on more than 100 documentary, feature and animation films as well as VR-productions, many of them award-winning. He holds a Master Degree in German and English Literature (MA) and an International Business MBA and is member of several film associations. Björn worked for 15 years as Head of Production for the production company Kick Film GmbH before he founded Ginger Foot Films in 2007, offering consulting services to film producers in the areas of development, financing, production and distribution.

For 6 years Björn served as treasurer in the board of directors of AG DOK (the largest association of indepentent film professionals in Germany), 3 years in the Executive Board of the European Documentary Network (EDN), 9 years he was member of the tax expert committee of the German Cultural Council and 6 years in the jury of the BKM film fund. He acted as consultant for the distinguished market Sunny Side of the Doc for the Asian region and organizes delegations of German independent documentary filmmakers to international festivals and markets for German Documentaries.

Björn is an expert for the European Innovation Council and the European Media programme. He moderates panel discussions and pitchings, is Academic Director of the Asian-European training initiative DOCROADS, teaches at universities in Europe and Asia and conducts international workshops in production, financing and pitchings. Credits include: AG DOK Akademie, Asian Side of the Doc, Die Medienakademie, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Guangzhou International Festival, Goethe Institute Cambodia, La Salle College Singapore, Macromedia Hochschule, Red Bull Media House, Sunny Side of the Doc, Tokyo Docs, University of Westminister, Wirtschaftsministerium Deutschland.

From 2018 to 2021 he worked as VP Business Development for Reef Distribution, one of the leading world distributors for 360 degree immersive fulldome films. From 2021 to 2022 Björn worked as CFO & Head of New Markets with Plenty.Business, a full-service sales agency for the creative industry and tech brands. Since 2022 Björn works as Head of Production for Batelion GmbH, a creative studio for VFX and animation.
