Die Erforschung der Interferenzen zwischen Naturklang und elektronisch bearbeitetem oder synthetisiertem Material gehört zu der ästhetisch avanciertesten wie intellektuell anregendsten Herausforderung, der sich heutige Improvisationsmusik stellen kann. Genau diese spezielle Welt des Klangs loten die vier Musiker grenzüberschreitend in vielfältigen Strukturen mit offener Form aus, gestützt auf ihre jahrelange Erfahrung mit freier Improvisation und ihre individuellen Musiksprachen. Das ihren Instrumenten angestammte Vokabular wird dabei durch unorthodoxe und ungewöhnliche Spielweisen erweitert.

Ausgangspunkt der einzelnen Stücke sind zufällig ausgewählte, vorgefundene oder vorprogrammierte Ready-Made Sounds, d.h. generierte oder kombinierte Strukturen aus synthetisierten Klangquellen oder Klangtransformationen, die so parametrisiert sind, dass live über eine Vielzahl von Controllern die Sound-Charakteristiken drastisch verändert werden können. Ein Ready-Made Sound wird so zur Ursuppe eines sich in Echtzeit entwickelnden Spektrums von Klangereignissen und Klangfarben in der intensiven Interaktion der beteiligten Musiker. Jede Performance erforscht den dabei entstehenden musikalischen Raum, setzt sich spielerisch und experimentell mit den auftauchenden Klangstrukturen auseinander.

Exploring the interferences between natural sound and electronically processed or synthesized material is one of the aesthetically most advanced as well as intellectually stimulating challenges that today’s improvisational music can face. It is precisely this special world of sound that the four musicians explore across borders in diverse open-form structures, drawing on their years of experience with free improvisation and their individual musical languages. The vocabulary inherent to their instruments is thereby expanded by unorthodox and unusual ways of playing.

The starting point of the individual pieces are randomly selected, found or pre-programmed Ready-Made Sounds, i.e. generated or combined structures from synthesized sound sources or sound transformations that have been parameterized in such a way that the sound characteristics can be drastically changed live via a multitude of controllers. A ready-made sound thus becomes the primordial soup of a real-time evolving spectrum of sonic events and timbres in the intense interaction of the musicians involved. Each performance explores the musical space that emerges in the process, engaging playfully and experimentally with the sound structures that happen.
