Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 2015 steht Soulcrane für lyrischen, kammermusikalisch geprägten Jazz, der ebenso subtil wie eindringlich ist. Unter der Leitung von Trompeter Matthias Schwengler hat das Ensemble einen charakteristischen Sound entwickelt: offen, warm, melodisch und stets bereit für neue Impulse.Mit dem bulgarischen Saxophonisten cerhält Soulcrane eine markante neue Stimme. Liolevs Spiel verbindet die Ausdruckskraft des Jazz mit Einflüssen südosteuropäischer Folklore und erweitert das Klangspektrum der Band um eine poetische, mitreißende Note.

Chamber music jazz with vision

Since its foundation in 2015, Soulcrane has stood for lyrical, chamber music-influenced jazz that is as subtle as it is haunting. Under the direction of trumpeter Matthias Schwengler, the ensemble has developed a characteristic sound: open, warm, melodic and always ready for new impulses.

The Bulgarian saxophonist cerhält Soulcrane is a striking new voice. Liolev’s playing combines the expressiveness of jazz with the influences of south-eastern European folklore and adds a poetic, captivating note to the band’s sound spectrum.

The quartet moves effortlessly between contemplative ballads, free improvisation and harmonically complex compositions, always carried by a transparent, deeply felt ensemble sound.


The concerts at the LOFT will generally start at around 8 pm CEST - the LOFT will open at 7.30 pm CEST.
