Ich bin mir unsicher, welche Kriterien der Begriff „Tradition“ erfüllen muss, aber für mich persönlich ist es bereits Tradition, an meinem Geburtstag im LOFT ein Konzert zu spielen und aufzunehmen, und danach mit Freund*innen und Bekannten zusammen zu feiern, fröhlich sein, ein bisschen über das vergangene Jahr nachzudenken und neue Pläne zu schmieden.
Obwohl es keine jährliche Tradition ist, freue ich mich jedes Mal, diese Tradition im LOFT weiterzuführen, am dem Ort der schon seit unzähligen Jahren mein zweites Zuhause in Köln ist.

Auch freue ich mich, dass dieses Jahr zwei meiner Lieblingskollegen mit mir im Trio musizieren werden: mit Roger Kintopf am Bass und Dominik Mahnig am Schlagzeug habe ich in den letzten Jahren eine ganze Reihe an Projekten realisiert, praktisch alle im LOFT.
Als Trio haben wir jedoch noch nie Konzerte gespielt, und ich bin voller Vorfreude darüber, wie es klingt.

I’m not sure what criteria the term ‘tradition’ has to fulfil, but for me personally it’s already a tradition to play and record a concert at the LOFT on my birthday and then celebrate with friends and acquaintances, be happy, reflect a little on the past year and make new plans.
Although it’s not an annual tradition, I’m always happy to continue this tradition at LOFT, the place that has been my second home in Cologne for countless years.

I am also delighted that two of my favourite colleagues will be playing with me in a trio this year: with Roger Kintopf on bass and Dominik Mahnig on drums, I have realised a whole series of projects in recent years, practically all of them at the LOFT.
However, we have never played concerts as a trio, and I am full of anticipation about how it will sound.


The concerts at the LOFT will generally start at around 8 pm CET - the LOFT will open at 7.30 pm CET.
