Ein explodierendes Mikroversum: Das frei improvisierende Trio RGR erschafft intensive Momente zerbrechlicher Schönheit. Keine Kompositionen, keine Absprachen – Ausgangspunkt ist ein gemeinsam gewachsenes musikalisches Verständnis. Spielerisch verbinden die drei MusikerInnen verschiedene Einflüsse und Klangwelten: Raschelnd, streichend, zupfend, flüsternd fauchend oder singend. Aus stillen Klängen und kaputten Beats entwickelt das Trio filigrane Melodien, die ihre unbändige Kraft aus der spontanen Entstehung ziehen.

Saxophonistin Inga Rothammel, Pianist Jan Lukas Roßmüller und Schlagzeuger Jakob Görris gehören einer jungen Kölner Jazzgeneration an, die sich zwischen experimentellem Klangreichtum und entwaffnender Einfachheit bewegt. Octopetala heißt ihr Debut Album, welches im März 2024 bei Boomslang Records erscheint. Namensgeberin ist die Polarrose. Die Band ist vom LOFT ausgezeichnet worden und konnte ihr erstes Album im Rahmen des recording project im Oktober 2022 aufnehmen.

An exploding microverse: the free improvising trio RGR creates intense moments of fragile beauty. No compositions, no agreements – the starting point is a musical understanding that has grown together. The three musicians playfully combine different influences and sound worlds: Rustling, stroking, plucking, whispering hissing or singing. From quiet sounds and broken beats, the trio develops delicate melodies that draw their irrepressible power from spontaneous emergence.

Saxophonist Inga Rothammel, pianist Jan Lukas Roßmüller and drummer Jakob Görris belong to a young Cologne jazz generation that moves between experimental richness of sound and disarming simplicity. Octopetala is the name of their debut album, which will be released on Boomslang Records in March 2024. It is named after the polar rose. The band has been honored by the LOFT and was able to record their first album as part of the recording project in October 2022.
