Ensemble ~su kreiert eine musikalische Welt, die zwischen Gug-Ak („Klassische“ Musik aus Korea), Mu-Ak (traditionelle Musik der Schamanen aus Korea), Jazz, Samulnori und zeitgenössischer improvisierter Musik liegt.
Die vier MusikerInnen spielen mit der Loslösung von – und Annährung an tradierte, definierte Rahmen und vorgeformte Strukturen. So werden diese im gleichen Atemzug hörbar zu einem Fluss der Inspiration. Zuweilen fragil wirkt ihre Musik, die immer organisch gewebt, autonom und authentisch ist. Ensemble ~su ist dabei phantasie- und humorvoll, groovy und punkig.

Ensemble ~su creates a musical environment, which oscillates between Gug-Ak (classical music from Korea), Mu-Ak (spiritual music of Korean Shamans), Jazz, Samulnori and contemporary improvised music. These four musicians play – in the best sense of the word – with these traditionalstructures. Most of all, it is their unique hoheup, the simultaneous breathing, that renders their different musical backgrounds into one flow of inspiration.
At times, their music seems to be fragile, always organic, independent and authentic, a music that is both visionary and funny, groovy and punky.
