In  three of his works, performed this evening as part of the special focus series on Polish music, one feels this love for the past particularly clearly: the Polish composer chose a hymn by the abbot Hrabanus Maurus, an old melody found in a monastery archive and a Church Slavonic hymn as the basis for his works »Veni creator«, »Benedicamus domino« and »Song of Cherubim«. read less
