Seit 2016 kuratiert das Kollektiv jungesloft jährlich eine Konzertreihe, um herausragenden jungen Musiker*innen im Bereich Jazz und Improvisierte Musik/Performance eine Plattform zu bieten. In der diesjährigen Ausgabe der Monday Meetings unter dem Motto Coalesce (engl. “zusammenschließen”, “vereinen”) wird das bestehende Format der Begegnung intensiviert.


Keisuke Matsuno, Cansu Tanrıkulu, Liz Kosack, Ignaz Schick, LOFT, Cologne, Monday Meetings, CoalesceKeisuke Matsuno ist E-Gitarrist und Sound Maker und ist in den Musikszenen Brooklyns und Berlins fest verwurzelt. Seine musikalische Ästhetik wurde als „salt of the earth“ (Bird is the Worm) und als „most extravagant, mind-blowing, and unheard-within-the-unheard“ (Blow Up) bezeichnet. Er ist Gründungsmitglied der Band »Trio Schmetterling«, ist u.a. Bandmitglied von Jim Black’s »Smash & Grab«, »Wood River«, »Hues«, »Smashing Humans«, Briggan Krauss‘ »The Need Trio« und John Zorn’s »Bagatelles« und arbeitete u.a. auch mit Chris Speed, Thomas Morgan, Hans Tammen, Grey McMurray, Peter Apfelbaum und Red Baraat zusammen. Während er über 30 Alben einspielte und in über 30 Ländern auf fünf Kontinenten tourte, kollaborierte er auch mit verschiedenen Künstler*innen in Tanz, Theater und Film. So befasst er sich als Protagonist und Komponist in Misaki Matsui’s Kurzfilm »mit Kenji und Keisuke« (USA/Japan) mit den Themen Identität, Multikulturalität und das Leben in New York City. Als gebürtiger Berliner wuchs er sowohl in der geteilten als auch wiedervereinten Stadt auf und zog 2010 in die USA.

Für Coalesce hat er mit Cansu Tanrıkulu, Liz Kosack und Ignaz Schick eine Band zusammengestellt, mit der er neue musikalische Wege erkunden möchte.

Since 2016, the jungesloft collective has curated an annual concert series to provide a platform for outstanding young musicians* in the fields of jazz and improvised music/performance. In this year's edition of the Monday Meetings under the motto Coalesce, the existing format of the encounter will be intensified.


Keisuke Matsuno is an electric guitarist and sound maker firmly rooted in the music scenes of Brooklyn and Berlin. His musical aesthetic has been called „salt of the earth“ (Bird is the Worm) and „most extravagant, mind-blowing, and unheard-within-the-unheard“ (Blow Up). He is a founding member of the band „Trio Schmetterling“, is a band member of Jim Black’s „Smash & Grab“, „Wood River“, „Hues“, „Smashing Humans“, Briggan Krauss‘ „The Need Trio“ and John Zorn’s „Bagatelles“, among others, and has also worked with Chris Speed, Thomas Morgan, Hans Tammen, Grey McMurray, Peter Apfelbaum and Red Baraat. While recording over 30 albums and touring in over 30 countries on five continents, he has also collaborated with various artists in dance, theatre and film. As the protagonist and composer in Misaki Matsui’s short film „with Kenji and Keisuke“ (USA/Japan), he deals with the themes of identity, multiculturalism and life in New York City. Born in Berlin, he grew up in both the divided and reunited city and moved to the US in 2010.
