Andreas Kurz, Johannes Ludwig und Alex Parzhuber treffen sich als Working Band regelmäßig an Mittwochabenden, um nach ihren Unterrichtstätigkeiten an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München noch gemeinsam den Tag musikalische ausklingen zu lassen.
Dabei ergibt sich eine Mischung aus entspanntem Abhängen und fokussiertem Proben – da dies nun schon seit beinahe zwei Jahren geschieht, ist musikalische einiges zusammen gewachsen. Es werden Stücke gespielt, aber vor allem viel improvisiert und interagiert.
Ohne den Druck, virtuos oder spektakulär sein zu müssen, entsteht ein beeindruckendes und vor allem tief gehendes Zusammenspiel voller blindem Verständnis.

Der US-Amerikaner Loren Stillman ist seit 2008 mit Johannes Ludwig befreundet, wohnte zwischenzeitlich in Köln und ist einer der stilistisch eindrucksvollsten Saxophonisten unserer Zeit.

Andreas Kurz, Johannes Ludwig and Alex Parzhuber meet regularly as a working band on Wednesday evenings to end the day together musically after their teaching activities at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
This results in a mixture of relaxed hanging out and focused rehearsals – since this has been going on for almost two years now, a lot has musically grown together. Pieces are played, but above all a lot of improvisation and interaction takes place.
Without the pressure of having to be virtuosic or spectacular, the result is an impressive and above all profound interplay full of blind understanding.

The US-American Loren Stillman has been a friend of Johannes Ludwig since 2008, lived in Cologne in the meantime and is one of the stylistically most impressive saxophonists of our time.

This concert is in preparation for a recording in the chamber music hall of the DLF in Cologne.
