»Epische Sagen« - Werke von Wagner // Rouse // van Beethoven // Sibelius
In seinem »Lohengrin« ordnete Wagner charakterliche Klangfarben der Psychologie der Figuren zu, die in der Ouvertüre als konzentrierte Essenz zu erleben sind. In Anlehnung an Wagners »Der Ring des Nibelungen« stellte sich der Komponist Christopher Rouse die Frage nach dem Schicksal des Zwergs Alberich.
Die Sage des Prometheus war ein Sujet, das Beethovens aufklärerischen Idealen entgegen kam und ihn dazu veranlasste, eine Ballettmusik für das Wiener Hoftheater zu schreiben.
