Matiah Chinaski and DJ Perez have long held the status of hip-hop legends in their homeland of Chile and throughout South America - based on their work with Mente Sabia Cru and as a duo project that has been going strong for 12 years. And with each visit to Europe they continue to build on this reputation, teaming up with local musicians such as Retrogott or Perfektomat, the working band of Cologne musician Joscha Oetz.
Perfektomat first emerged in San Diego, California in 2001, and recently made waves with 2023's longplayer "Zeit Hat Uns (ENTBS), an album collaboration with Cologne based rapper Retrogott. Going full circle, both also collaborated with Matiah Chinaski and DJ Perez on the single "Warenkorb", and are about to take this transatlantic collaboration live. On July 18th the whole crew will share a stage for the first time, taking over Green Room in Cologne's venue Stadtgarten - mark your calendars.
As a prequel to this concert dublab will broadcast a Perfektomat live session, with DJ Perez and Chinaski joining in for conversations and DJ selections - hosted by dublab favorite Catalina Valencia. Recommended listening, tune in!
