Sich nackt machen, im übertragenen Sinne alte Kleider abwerfen. Nackt in der Welt stehen, ohne die nicht mehr dienlichen Muster und seelischen Ballast. Diese Transformation thematisiert Kate Birch in den Songs ihres neuen Albums The Fool das am 1. April 2022 beim Label Red Brick Chapel erscheinen wird.

Laura Schuler spielt seit vielen Jahren die Geige und hat sich international mit diversen Formationen einen Namen in der experimentellen Jazzszene gemacht. Unter dem Pseudonym Kate Birch bewegt sie sich Richtung Indie Pop, konzentriert sich aufs Songwriting und Producing mit Musik voll entrückter Schönheit und spannenden Ebenen. Während eines längeren Aufenthalts in New York erdacht und ausformuliert, zeigt ihre Musik eine Symbiose aus diversen Welten und Electronica-Klänge mit verzaubernder Wirkung.

Nach zahlreichen Solo Konzerten (CH, DE, SWE, DK) vor der Pandemie, tritt Kate Birch nun auch im Duo mit Clemens Kuratle auf. Der Musiker aus Bern und Köln steuert seinen Beitrag am Schlagzeug, Synths und Backing Vocals bei. Zusammen gelingt es den beiden, grösser als ein Duo zu klingen.

To make oneself naked, figuratively to throw off old clothes. Standing naked in the world, without the patterns and mental ballast that no longer serve. Kate Birch addresses this transformation in the songs of her new album The Fool, which will be released on the Red Brick Chapel label on 1 April 2022.

Laura Schuler has been playing the violin for many years and has made a name for herself internationally in the experimental jazz scene with various formations. Under the pseudonym Kate Birch she moves towards indie pop, concentrating on songwriting and producing with music full of rapt beauty and exciting layers. Conceived and formulated during a longer stay in New York, her music shows a symbiosis of diverse worlds and electronica sounds with an enchanting effect.

After numerous solo concerts (CH, DE, SWE, DK) before Pandemic, Kate Birch now also performs as a duo with Clemens Kuratle. The musician from Bern and Cologne contributes on drums, synths and backing vocals. Together, the two manage to sound bigger than a duo.
