Das Emilia Gołos Quartet ist ein deutsch-polnisches Ensemble, das sich aus Musiker*innen der jungen Kölner Improvisationsmusikszene zusammensetzt. Das Quartett spielt improvisierte und konzeptionelle Musik, wobei der emotionale Aspekt für sie im Vordergrund steht. Sie schaffen die Musik „im Dazwischen”. Zwischen Tonalität und Atonalität, zwischen starkem Rhythmus und ad libitum, zwischen schönen Liedern und brutaler Improvisation. Die Leiterin des Ensembles Emilia Gołos entwirft Kompositionskonzepte, die die Dramatik vorgeben und allen Improvisatoren große Freiheit bei der Aufführung lassen.

The Emilia Gołos Quartet is a German-Polish ensemble of musicians from the young Cologne improvised music scene. The quartet performs improvised and conceptual music in which the emotional aspect is central. They create music 'in-between'. Between tonality and atonality, between strong rhythm and ad libitum, between beautiful songs and brutal improvisation. The leader of the ensemble, Emilia Gołos, creates compositional concepts that provide the dramatic structure and give all the improvisers great freedom in performance.
