Als Rising Star (NRC) und Nr. 1 in der Kategorie Gitarristin des Jahres – Benelux (Gitarist.nl Poll Awards, 2026) ist Ella Zirina eine unverwechselbare Stimme an der Gitarre in der niederländischen und internationalen Jazzszene. Ihre Karriere begann mit ihrem Debütalbum Intertwined (2023), das während eines Aufenthalts im BIMHUIS entstand und für einen Edison Award nominiert wurde. Seitdem hat Zirina vier Alben als Bandleaderin veröffentlicht und sich eine starke Präsenz in der internationalen Jazzszene erarbeitet. Mit ihrem Trio tourte sie durch Europa und spielte bei Festivals vom North Sea Jazz Festival bis zum Oslo Jazz Festival. Zuvor trat sie bereits im LOFT an der Seite von Pablo Held auf und war 2023 als Solokünstlerin im Kölner Stadtgarten während des KLAENG Festivals zu sehen.
Zirina vereint ein Trio von herausragenden Persönlichkeiten der Jazzszene: den niederländischen Schlagzeuger Jamie Peet, bekannt unter anderem durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit Y-Otis und Jasper Høiby, sowie den in New York lebenden, dänischen Bassisten Felix Moseholm, der ein gefragter Mitwirkender bei Brad Mehldau und Samara Joy ist.
Gemeinsam konzentrieren sie sich auf Zirinas gitarrenorientierte Kompositionen, die von Klang, Textur, Dynamik und wechselnden Stimmungen geprägt sind und Musik aus ihrem neuesten Trio-Album Boundless Blue, Sunset Hue sowie neue Kompositionen enthalten.

Her journey took off with her debut album Intertwined (2023), created during a residency at BIMHUIS and earning an Edison Award nomination.
