Kurz vor seinem 50. Geburtstag erfüllt Kölns einzig wahres Blasorchester den Herzenswunsch aus Berlin: Wir müssen mehr und länger arbeiten.
Und Dicke Luft ackert so staatstragend, dass es eine Freude ist.
Das erste Fleißkärtchen in diesem Jahr gab’s für Nach oben, den neuen Tonträger. Das Ensemble bedient dabei moderne Trends und hat eine klassische Langspielplatte produziert.
Weiter geht’s im LOFT, wo Dicke Luft besonders gerne eine Sonderschicht schiebt. Präsentiert wird der Grundgedanke des analogen Werks und des Orchesters. Das ist die Freude am Ignorieren von Genre- und Ideologiegrenzen.

Just before its 50th anniversary, Cologne’s one and only true wind orchestra is fulfilling Berlin’s heartfelt wish: We need to work harder and longer.
And Dicke Luft is working so diligently that it’s a joy to watch.
The first “good work” card this year went to Nach oben, the new album. The ensemble embraces modern trends while producing a classic LP.
The journey continues at LOFT, where Dicke Luft particularly enjoys putting in an extra shift. The core concept of the analog work and the orchestra is presented: the joy of ignoring genre and ideological boundaries.
The program is just like the brand-new record: poetic, political, wild, well-rounded, and beautiful. Anyone who wants to hear how Björk, Bonnen, Coltrane, or Miles can be combined with Ernst Jandl is warmly welcome.
