In der Reihe CGNYC - Cologne meets New York lädt der Kölner Bassist Florian Herzog New Yorker Musiker*innen ein, um in einem ersten Zusammentreffen mit weiteren Kölner Musiker*innen spannende Konzerte zu gestalten.

Caroline Davis spielt Musik, um Menschen zu verbinden und neue Horizonte zu eröffnen. Ihr musikalischer Weg begann in Singapur und führte sie später in die USA, wo sie das Saxophon entdeckte.

Sie hat diverse Alben veröffentlicht und arbeitet an Projekten wie dem Jazz-Projekt Portals und der Protestband Alula. Caroline wurde zur Rising Star Alto-Saxophonistin von Downbeat (2018) gewählt und ihre Arbeit wurde von NPR und The New York Times gelobt.
Caroline hat mit Künstlern wie Lee Konitz und John Zorn zusammengearbeitet und ist in Mentoring-Programmen wie IAJE’s Sisters in Jazz aktiv. Sie erhielt zahlreiche Stipendien und Residenzen und integriert in ihre Kompositionen oft kognitive Wissenschaft. Als "teaching artist" unterrichtet sie an der New School und setzt sich für soziale Gerechtigkeit ein, indem sie Gemeinschaftsveranstaltungen organisiert.

In the CGNYC - Cologne meets New York series, Cologne bassist Florian Herzog invites New York musicians to create exciting concerts in a first meeting with other Cologne musicians.

Caroline Davis plays music to connect people and open up new horizons. Her musical path began in Singapore and later led her to the USA, where she discovered the saxophone.
