Unbeeinflusst von Modeerscheinungen oder dem Plattenmarkt existiert die Band bereits im 11. Jahr. Auf absolut autonomem kohärentem Weg spielen die Musiker von Caixa Cubo, was sie wollen, was sie bewegt. Ob sie sich auf experimentellere Klänge einlassen, wie bei den Elektro-Alben Saturno, Quartzo und CANIL_, oder ob sie das zeitlose Repertoire der brasilianischen Musik auf persönliche Weise neu interpretieren, wie bei den hervorragenden Alben Misturada und Enigma – A Música de Garoto.
Das siebte Album des Trios Angela (Heavenly Recordings) wurde von BBC 6, Gilles Peterson und Bandcamp zu einem der Alben des Jahres 2020 gewählt.

Das Trio hat sieben Alben veröffentlicht und trat unter anderem bei Jazz à Vienne (Frankreich), dem Riverboat Jazz Festival (Dänemark), dem Breda Jazz Festival (Holland), dem Auditório Ibirapuera (Brasilien) und dem Jazzkeller Frankfurt (Deutschland) auf und teilte die Bühne mit Musikern wie Tony Lakatos, John Rucco, Yamandu Costa und Paulo Belinatti.

Without being guided by fads or the phonographic market, the group reaches its eleventh year of activity. In an absolutely autonomous and coherent path, the musicians of Caixa Cubo play what they want, what moves them. Whether getting into more experimental sounds, like in the electric albums Saturno, Quartzo and CANIL_, or in personal re-readings of the timeless repertoire of Brazilian music, like in the excellent albums Misturada and Enigma – A Música de Garoto.
The trio’s seventh album Angela (Heavenly Recordings) was chosen by BBC 6, Gilles Peterson and Bandcamp as one of their albums of the year for 2020.
