Am Grund der Höhle sitzend, starren wir gebannt auf den Fels. Zwischen Licht und Schatten offenbaren sich die Grenzen von Verstand und Wahrnehmung. Angetrieben von unheilbarer Hoffnung macht sich das Ensemble um Pianist Moritz Petersen auf die Suche nach dem Schönen in den Unzulänglichkeiten des Alltags – denn am Ende ist es doch die ganze Menge unserer Erfahrungen, die uns menschlich macht. Das Quartett mit Saxophonist Matti Klessascheck, Bassist Ivan Scholz und Schlagzeuger Niklas Wittig vereint langjährige Gefährten, eingespielte Kollegen und neue Freunde. Zusammen entwickeln sie einen melodisch fließenden Gloom Jazz – vielschichtig und eingängig. Ein melancholischer Rückblick zum Ende des Studiums, ein Ausblick voll bleibender Neugier.

Sitting at the bottom of the cave, we stare spellbound at the rock. Between light and shadow, the boundaries of understanding and perception are revealed. Driven by incurable hope, the ensemble around pianist Moritz Petersen sets out in search of the beautiful in the shortcomings of everyday life – because in the end, it is the whole set of our experiences that makes us human. The quartet with saxophonist Matti Klessascheck, bassist Ivan Scholz and drummer Niklas Wittig unites long-time companions, established colleagues and new friends. Together they develop a melodically flowing gloom jazz – multi-layered and catchy. A melancholy look back at the end of their studies, an outlook full of lasting curiosity.
