Synopsis

Hans Petter Moland's English-language road movie centres on a dys¬functional family forced to come to terms with their past. Stellan Skarsgard plays Tomas, a divorced alcoholic who has returned to his native Oslo, leaving his estranged wife, Helen, and career-oriented daughter behind. When Helen discovers she is dying of cancer, she enlists the aid of her daugh¬ter, now a successful but hard-living London lawyer, to track down Tomas and bring him to her bedside in Aberdeen.
