Synopsis
(in German only)In the last part of their series "Philosophy and New Music", the authors Uli Aumüller and Peter Moormann summarise their investigations. What are the reasons for the increased interest of philosophy in New Music in recent years? Is this due to the progress of communication technologies in particular, which provide new forums for the presentation of music and pose anew the question of what New Music is or can be? So while Adorno worked on a relatively narrow canon of composers whose works were essentially conceived for the concert hall and the opera, these two platforms are now only two among many other possibilities. As the place of new music has changed, however, its identity has changed at the same time - and this is where the interest of philosophy takes hold.
