Der spanische Tenor Xavier Moreno hat in seiner bereits 20-jährigen Bühnenkarriere viele der bedeutendsten Partien seines Fachs an internationalen Opernhäusern gesungen. Er wurde in Barcelona geboren und studierte am dortigen Conservatori Superior del Liceu Gesang und Klavier.
Er begann seine Karriere 2003 als Ensemblemitglied des Nationaltheaters Mannheim, wo er sich ein breitgefächertes Repertoire erarbeitete. Seitdem führten ihn Engagements an Opernhäuser wie Opéra National de Paris, Teatro Real in Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Königliche Oper in Kopenhagen, Opéra de Strasbourg sowie in Deutschland u. a. nach Köln, Leipzig, Hannover, Karlsruhe, Dortmund und zur Ruhrtriennale.
Zu seinem Opernepertoire zählen unter anderem die Titelpartien in Verdis Don Carlo und Otello sowie in Umberto Giordanos Andrea Chénier und Massenets Werther, außerdem Don Alvaro (La Forza del destino), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Don José (Carmen), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Gabriele Adorno (Simon Boccanegra), Radames (Aida), Manrico (Il Trovatore), Calaf (Turandot), Turiddu (Cavalleria Rusticana), Canio (Pagliacci), Luigi (Il Tabarro), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Rodolfo (La Bohème) und Alfredo (La Traviata).
Die Titelpartie in Otello sang Xavier Moreno zuletzt in der Spielzeit 2022/23 in der Neuproduktion an der Oper Leipzig.
