RHO ist ein 2017 gegründetes Künstler:innen-Kollektiv. Es verzichtet auf personale Eigennamen und versteht sich als Gemeinschaft zur Durchsetzung kreativer Konzepte an der Schnittstelle verschiedener Professionen wie z. B. Bildende Kunst, Theater und experimentelle Musik. RHOs Arbeitsschwerpunkt liegt auf immersiven Rauminstallationen, die sämtliche Sinne adressieren, um bestehende Strukturen physischer, psychischer sowie sozialer Räume und deren Wahrnehmung spielerisch zu untersuchen. Einen zentralen Aspekt bildet hierbei die körperliche Erfahrung, die durch die Choreografie von Licht, Schatten, Geräuschen und Gerüchen sowie performativen Elementen erreicht wird. Gezielt betreibt RHO auch die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Kollektiven, so. u. a. mit dem Performance Duo Studio Beisel oder aktuell dem Kollektiv Dritte Degeneration Ost. Im Rahmen des Karl-Sczuka-Preises 2021 erhielten RHO und das Vokalsensemble ?????? (Glossa) das gemeinsam von Donaueschinger Musiktagen und Goethe-Institut ausgeschriebene „Internationale Recherchestipendium 2022“ für ihr gemeinsam produziertes Hörstück „Cholera – I though I should never speak again“.
