Der Bariton Pavel Yankovsky wurde in Weißrussland geboren und studierte am Rimski-Korsakow-Konservatorium in St. Petersburg. Er wurde mehrfach ausgezeichnet, u. a. beim International Irina Bogacheva Wettbewerb 2007 und beim Luciano Pavarotti Competition 2008.

Sein Repertoire umfasst Partien wie Eugen Onegin, Fürst Igor, Rigoletto, Robert (IOLANTA), Fürst Jelezki und Tomski (PIQUE DAME), Wolfram (TANNHÄUSER), Telramund (LOHENGRIN), Jochanaan (SALOME), Miller (LUISA MILLER), Jago (OTELLO), Conte di Luna (IL TROVATORE), Don Carlo di Vargas (LA FORZA DEL DESTINO), Amonasro (AIDA), Ford (FALSTAFF), Figaro (IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA), Enrico (LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR), Escamillo (CARMEN), Marcello (LA BOHÈME), Sharpless (MADAMA BUTTERFLY), Jack Rance (LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST) und Scarpia (TOSCA).
An der Deutschen Oper Berlin gibt er sein Debüt als Carlo Gérard in ANDREA CHENIER.
