Oreste Cosimo schloss sein Gesangsstudium am Konservatorium „Arrigo Boito“ in Parma mit Auszeichnung ab. Im Jahr 2016 wurde er von Maestro Riccardo Muti für seine italienische Opernakademie in Ravenna ausgewählt. Er studierte an der „Accademia del Teatro alla Scala“ (2016/2017) und arbeitete mit weltberühmten Künstlern wie Renato Bruson, Gregory Kunde, Luciana D'Intino und Vincenzo Scalera. 2018 zog er nach Wien, wo er unter der Leitung von Ramón Vargas sein Können weiter perfektioniert. Er ist der Gesamtsieger (Grand Prix) des großen Wettbewerbs „Bibigul Tulegenova“ (Kasachstan 2019), des Wettbewerbs „Voci Verdiane“ in Busseto (2013). Er ist unter den Erstplatzierten anderer wichtiger Opernwettbewerbe wie „AsLiCo“ (Como 2018), „Tagliavini“ (Österreich), „Giacomotti“ (Voghera).
Zu den Opernhäusern, an denen er seit 2009 aufgetreten ist und in den nächsten Spielzeiten auftreten wird, gehören das Teatro Filarmonico in Verona (Rodolfo / LA BOHEME, Don Ottavio / DON GIOVANNI), das Stadttheater von Bern (Rodolfo), die Bühnen von Trieste (Rodolfo), Modena ( Duca di Mantova / RIGOLETTO ), Almaty (Alfredo / LA TRAVIATA), Lucca (Duca di Mantova), Ferrara (Duca di Mantova), das Teatro Alla Scala di Milano (Hexe, Gastone, Abdallo, Erster Gefangener / FIDELIO), die Reisopera Nederlands (Rodolfo), das Opernhaus von Banskà Bystrica (Alfredo), die Opera Româna Craiova (Edgardo, Nadir), die Häuser von Brescia, Bergamo, Pavia, Cremona und Como ( Fenton / FALSTAFF), Sondrio (Nemorino / L’ELISIR D‘AMORE) und Nizza (Edgardo / LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR).
Auch auf dem Konzertpodium reüssierte er u. a. in Puccinis „Messa di gloria“, Rossinis „Stabat Mater“ und „Petite Messe Solenelle“, Mozarts „Requiem“, Verdis „Messa da requiem“ und Dvoraks „Stabat Mater“. Für die Monatszeitschrift „Amadeus“ nahm er Rossinis „Stabat Mater“ mit Sonia Ganassi, Maria Pia Piscitelli und Carlo Colombara auf.
Er arbeitete mit Dirigenten wie Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, Antonio Pappano, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Michele Spotti, Christopher Franklin, Christoph Eschenbach und Nello Santi.
