Mathias Baresel ist freischaffender Komponist, Regisseur und Performer und lebt in Berlin. Sein Interesse gilt der Magie der Dinge (Objekte und Figuren), der Identität als Kunstform sowie der Erforschung musikalischer Grenzbereiche. Neben der künstlerischen Arbeit, ist er auch als Captain Brasko auf den Weltmeeren, auf dem Beachvolleyballfeld, beim Apnoetauchen und manchmal auch als Präsident einer Motorradgang anzutreffen.
Neben verschiedenen musikalischen Projekten (wie u. a. Ted Brasko, Boh Vajec Orchestra, Zei & Brasko, Krasny, Asche) ist er Gründer des Komponistenkollektivs „Stage Music“ und des deutsch-tschechisch-russischen Objekttheater-Kollektivs KHWOSHCH.
