Der katalanische Bariton Lluís Calvet i Pey studierte Gesang am Coservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona sowie am Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Erste Bühnenerfahrungen sammelte er bei Hochschulproduktionen an beiden Institutionen sowie u.a. beim Festival internacional de teatro clásico de Mérida und der Operncompagnie Òpera Jove de Barcelona.

Der katalanische Bariton Lluís Calvet i Pey studierte Gesang am Coservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona sowie am Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Erste Bühnenerfahrungen sammelte er bei Hochschulproduktionen an beiden Institutionen sowie u.a. beim Festival internacional de teatro clásico de Mérida und der Operncompagnie Òpera Jove de Barcelona.
Lluís gehörte zu den Finalisten des Hans-Gabor-Belvedere Gesangswettbewerbs 2023 und gewann 2020 den zweiten Preis beim Concours de Cant les Corts de Barcelona. Außerdem erhielt er 2022 das Eva-Kleinitz-Stipendium von Opera Europa.
Von 2022 bis 2024 war er Mitglied des Internationalen Opernstudios der Staatsoper Hannover und verkörperte hier Partien wie William in The Fall of the House of Usher, Sciarrone in Tosca, den Jäger in Rusalka, Ruggiero in La Juive, Fiorello und den Offizier in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore und Ping in Turning Turandot. In dieser Zeit gastierte er auch bei der Ruhrtriennale und an der Staatsoper Stuttgart als der kleine Häftling in Janáceks Aus einem Totenhaus und als Chou En Lai in Adams Nixon in China.
Ab der Spielzeit 2024/25 ist Lluís Calvet i Pey Ensemblemitglied der Staatsoper Hannover.
