Katrin Wundsam studierte Gesang an der Bruckner-Privatuniversität Linz und am Mozarteum Salzburg. Als Ensemblemitglied der Oper Köln war die österreichische Mezzosopranistin u. a. in der Titelrolle in Carmen, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Dorabella in Così fan tutte und Preziosilla in La Forza del Destino zu hören. Zu ihrem Repertoire zählen weiterhin Partien wie Fricka in Das Rheingold und Die Walküre, Waltraute in Götterdämmerung, Ježibaba und Fremde Fürstin in Rusalka sowie Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel. Bei den Wiener Festwochen 2023 hat sie Garderobiere und Gymnasiastin in der Neuproduktion von Lulu gesungen. Gastengagements führten sie bereits u. a. an die Staatsoper Hamburg, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Semperoper Dresden und Staatstheater Wiesbaden sowie zu den Bregenzer Festspielen, den Salzburger Osterfestspielen und den Tiroler Festspielen Erl. Wundsam arbeitete mit Dirigent:innen wie Daniel Barenboim, Adam Fischer, Francois Xavier Roth und Christian Thielemann zusammen.
