Geboren in Nantes in Frankreich studierte Julien Guiffes in Paris an der Ecole Superieur de Réalisation Audiovisuelle / Institut Superieure des Techniques du Son und spezialisierte sich dort auf Komposition und Sounddesign im Bereich Audiovisuelles und Multimedia. In Paris schuf er das Sounddesign für verschiedene Kurzfilme, Hörspiele und Theaterstücke und arbeitete zwei Jahre als Fach- und Projektberater im Studio- und Installationsbereich. Seit 2007 lebt er in Deutschland und entwickelte seither zahlreiche Kompositionen und Sounddesigns für Sprech- und Tanztheater, u. a. für das Kevin O‘Day Ballet des Nationaltheaters Mannheim in Zusammenarbeit mit den Choreografen Dominique Dumais (DER KLEINE PRINZ) und Brian McNeal (THREE TO ONE). Seine Musik produziert er als Multiinstrumentalist (Gitarre, Bass, Schlagzeug, Keyboard, Viola da Gamba, Computerprogramming) stets selbst.
In Freiburg kennt man seine Kompositionen aus Stücken wie HESCH AFFEKTE, RICO UND DIE TIEFERSCHATTEN, CRUDELAND und HOW TO DATE A FEMINIST.
