Die südkoreanische Sopranistin Hye-Young Moon studierte nach ihrem Abschluss an der Seoul Arts Highschool der Seoul National University, wo sie bei Professor Mihae Park studierte.
Im Jahr 2015 trat sie im Rahmen des T&B Summer Festival for Youth mit dem Philharmonia Seoul Orchestra im Seongnam Arts Center auf. Sie führte eine Reihe koreanischer Kunstlieder von Kyuyoung Chin in Ufa auf und trat auch bei einem NYIOP Korea Economic Daily Concert in der Lotte Concert Hall mit dem Hankyung Philharmonic Orchestra auf.
Im Jahr 2020 begann sie ihr Masterstudium an der Juilliard School, wo sie bei Cynthia Hoffmann studiert.
An der Juilliard School sang sie die Partie der Agilea in Händels TESEO unter der Regie von Stephen Wadsworth und unter der Leitung von Gary Wedow, die Partie der Euridice in L'ORFEO sowie Anne Trulove in THE RAKE'S PROGRESS unter der Regie von Louisa Muller und der Leitung von Mark Shapiro. Außerdem trat sie im Rahmen des Neustart-Projekts des Lincoln Center im Konzert „Through the Window“ auf. Sie sang in zwei Konzerten mit dem Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle im Carolina Theatre of Durham, die in North Carolina stattfanden – BEERthoven und Opera Undressed.
Sie hat an Meisterkursen von Michele Crider, Cheryl Studer, Lawrence Brownlee, Isabel Leonard, Barbara Hannigan und Barbara Frittoli teilgenommen.
In der Spielzeit 2022/23 gab Hye-Young Moon an der Deutschen Oper Berlin ihr Debüt als Königin der Nacht / DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE und war u. a. als Fiakermilli / ARABELLA, Gräfin von Ceprano / RIGOLETTO oder Ellen / LAKMÉ zu erleben. Sie begleitete das Ensemble auf die Gastspielreise in den Oman als Sand- und Taumännchen / HÄNSEL UND GRTEL. 2022/23 war sie zunächst Stipendiatin des WCN Stipendiums Südkorea, um in der Saison 2023/24 als Stipendiatin der Familien Heidi und Dr. Karlheinz Knauthe & Theodora Schnauck-Betow in den Talent Circle des Förderkreises zu wechseln. Sie wird im Laufe der aktuellen Saison in BETA zu erleben sein, als Königin der Nacht / DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, als Maos Frau / NIXON IN CHINA, als Blumenmädchen / PARSIFAL oder als Gräfin von Ceprano / RIGOLETTO. Im Jahr 2023 gab sie außerdem ihr Korea-Debüt an der Korea National Opera als Königin der Nacht auf Tournee an verschiedenen Orten.
