Frieda Gawenda, geboren an der Ostsee, arbeitet als Musikerin, Komponistin für Theatermusik und Performerin mit den Schwerpunkten Figuren-, Material- und Objekttheater sowie musikalische Auseinandersetzung mit poetischen Texten. Musikalische Aus- und Weiterbildung erhielt sie u. a. bei Erika Stucky, Christian Zehnder, Sidsel Endresen, Renata Rosa, Ingrid Hammer, Ursula Scribano, Richard Koch, Arkady Shilkloper und Sergey Starostin. Sie ist Gründungsmitglied des Kollektivs „Dritte Degeneration Ost“ sowie des Prager-Berliner Musik- und Objekttheater-Ensembles KHWOSHCH, dessen mehrfach preisgekrönte Produktion „DINOPERA“ seit 2021 auf deutschen und tschechischen Bühnen, wie der Prager Staatsoper und dem at.tension! Festival gezeigt wurde. Bis zum heutigen Zeitpunkt entstanden vier weitere Produktionen in Tschechien und der Slowakei. Mit dem interdisziplinären Band-Projekt „HUND“ entwickelt sie performative Konzertformate mit Objekten, Lichtinstallation und Percussionsrobotern. Mit der Band „my sister grenadine“ tourte sie von 2017 bis zum vergangenen Jahr mit über 350 Konzerten in Deutschland, Tschechien, Frankreich, Österreich und der Schweiz und veröffentlichte zwei Alben auf dem Label Solaris Empire.
