Ausbildung an der Schauspielakademie in Zürich. Engagements u.a. am Theater in Basel, in Berlin sowohl an der Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz als auch an der Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. Außerdem spielte er in zahlreichen Kino- und TV-Produktionen, u.a. in dem Kinofilm »Liebesluder« , Regie: Detlev Buck. Hauptrolle in »Wilde - Der Mann Mit Den Traurigen Augen« von Händl Klaus (Regie: Sebastian Nübling, eingeladen zum Berliner Theatertreffen 2004) sowie in Nüblings Edward II.-Inszenierung bei den Salzburger Festspielen 2004. Seit 2005 ist Bruno Cathomas Mitglied des Schauspielensembles der Schaubühne Berlin. Am Maxim Gorki Theater inszenierte er 2003/2004 PEANUTS von Fausto Paravidino. In der Spielzeit 2004/2005 war er verantwortlich für GLAUBE I: DIE BIBEL – Eine Sinnsuche in fünf Teilen.
