Alessandro De Marchi studierte am Konservatorium in Rom und an der »Schola Cantorum Basilensis«. Er tritt regelmäßig in den renommiertesten Theatern und bei den wichtigsten Festivals auf. Bislang dirigierte er an der Staatsoper in Berlin, am Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brüssel, an der Hamburger Staatsoper, am Teatro Regio in Turin, beim Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, an der Sächsischen Staatsoper Dresden, am Essener Aalto-Theater, an der Opéra National in Lyon, beim MDR in Hannover, am Prager Estates Theater, beim Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad, beim Montreux Festival, den Händel-Festspielen in Halle, das Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, das Academia Santa Cecilia Orchester in Rom, unter anderem »Il matrimonio Segreto«, »Don Pasquale« Haydns »L'isola disabitata«, Rossinis »Der Barbier von Sevilla«, »La Cenerentola«, Glucks »Don Juan«, Mozarts »Il re Pastore«, »Nozze di Figaro«, »Così fan tutte«, »Don Giovanni«, »Clemenza di Tito«, »Entführung aus dem Serail«, Monteverdis »Incoronazione di Poppea«, Reinhard Keisers »Der lächerliche Prinz Jodelet«, Händels »Julius Cäsar in Ägypten«, »Alcina« und Hasses »Cleofide«.
Er ist Erster Dirigent des Academia Montis Regalis Orchesters, mit dem er unter anderem Vivaldis »Juditha Triumphans«, »Orlando finto pazzo« (beide aufgenommen für Naïve), »L’Olimpiade« auf einer Konzerttour beim Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées und in Lyon aufführte, sowie »Il re pastore« für die Innsbrucker Festwochen einstudierte.
Außerdem wirkte er bei Aufnahmen für Naïve, Opus 111, Harmonia Mundi France, Accord, Symphonia, K617, Auvidis, WDR, Radio France, Radio Classique und Amadeus mit.
2009 wurde Alessandro De Marchi in der Nachfolge von René Jacobs die Künstlerische Leitung der Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik übertragen.
In der Spielzeit 2007/08 leitete Alessandro De Marchi an der Komischen Oper Berlin musikalisch die Aufführungen von Händels »Theseus«. In der Spielzeit 2009/10 dirigiert er eine weitere Händel-Oper, die Neuproduktion »Orlando«.

Alessandro De Marchi is first conductor of the orchestra of the Academia Montis Regalis. He performed with the orchestra Antonio Vivaldi's »Juditha Triumphans«, »Orlando finto pazzo «(both recorded for Naïve), »L Olimpiade« on a concert tour for the Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées. In Lyon he has rehearsed »Il re pastore« for the Innsbruck Festival.
Besides, he took part in CD recordings for Naïve, Opus 111, Harmonia Mundi France, Accord, Symphonia, K617, Auvidis, WDR, Radio France, Radio Classique and Amadeus.
