Das britisch-irische Theaterkollektiv Dead Centre um das Regie- und Autorenduo Ben Kidd und Bush Moukarzel gründete sich 2012 und realisiert seither international Theaterprojekte, u. a. in Dublin, Göteborg und Wien. Oft dienen historische Figuren oder Ereignisse als Ausgangspunkte ihrer Inszenierungen. So entstanden am Wiener Burgtheater „Alles, was der Fall ist“, ein Abend über den Philosophen Ludwig Wittgenstein, „Die Traumdeutung von Sigmund Freud“ und zuletzt „Katharsis“, am Schauspiel Stuttgart „Die Erziehung des Rudolf Steiner“. Ihre Arbeiten verweben Fakten und Fiktion unter dem Einsatz multimedialer Mittel.
Nach ihrem Operndebüt bei der Ruhrtriennale mit einer gefeierten Inszenierung von Olga Neuwirths BÄHLAMMS FEST arbeiteten Dead Centre mit Giorgio Battistellis Uraufführung IL TEOREMA DI PASOLINI erstmals an der Deutschen Oper Berlin und kehren mit der Uraufführung von Rebecca Saunders LASH in der Saison 2024/25 hierher zurück.
