Der irische Tenor Peter O’Reilly absolvierte die Dutch National Opera Academy, ein speziell auf Operngesang ausgelegter Masterstudiengang in Kooperation des Conservatorium van Amsterdam und des Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. Seine musikalische Ausbildung begann er zuvor im Chor der St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, woran er das Bachelorstudium am DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama anschloss. Bereits während seines Studiums trat er zusammen mit Orchestern wie dem RTÉ Concert Orchestra, dem Irish Chamber Orchestra, dem Irish Baroque Orchestra, dem Crash Ensemble und dem Residentie Orkest Den Haag auf. Zu den Partien, in denen er bereits auf der Bühne zu erleben war, zählen Gabriel von Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus), Zweiter Priester (Die Zauberflöte) an der Irish National Opera, Lechmere in der irischen Erstaufführung von Brittens Owen Wingrave mit dem Opera Collective Ireland, Laurie in Mark Adamos Little Women im Rahmen der Dutch National Opera Academy sowie Spoletta in Puccinis Tosca am Staatstheater Braunschweig.
Von 2021 bis 2023 gehörte Peter O’Reilly zum Internationalen Opernstudio der Staatsoper Hannover und war hier u. a. in der Hauptpartie der Deutschen Erstaufführung von humanoid sowie als Roderigo (Otello), Don Curzio (Le Nozze di Figaro), und Richard Scop (Der Vampyr) sowie als Roderick Usher (The Fall of the House of Usher) zu erleben.
