Der Lichtdesigner Sascha Zauner absolvierte seine technische Ausbildung am Staatstheater Kassel. Anschließend arbeitete er als Beleuchter am Staatsschauspiel Hannover. Von 2016 bis 2022 war er als Beleuchtungsmeister und Light Designer an der Staatsoper Hannover engagiert. Seine dortigen Kreationen sind unter anderem geprägt druch die Zusammenarbeit mit den Choreograf:innen Sophia Nappi, Jörg Mannes, Felix Landerer, Yaron Shamir und Marco Goecke sowie den Regisseur:innen Bernd Mottl, Marie-Eve Signeyrole, Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, Stefan Huber, Martin G. Berger, Ersan Montag und Barbora Horáková. Seit 2021 ist Sascha Zauner als freischaffender Light Designer europaweit tätig und arbeitete seitdem u. a. an der Staatsoper unter den Linden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opéra Orchestre National de Montpellier, Semperoper Dresden, Bergen Nasjonale Opera, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma und den Bayreuther Festspielen.
