Der indische Bariton Darwin Prakash studierte Gesang an der Royal Academy of Music in London. Er ist außerdem Absolvent der Glyndebourne Academy und der Georg Solti Accademia Di Bel Canto. Sein Studium beendete er mit Auszeichnung, dem Queen's Commendation for Excellence Award. 2016 erhielt er den Gus Christie Award des Glyndebourne Festivals, 2019 den Publikumspreis sowie den ersten Preis der National Mozart Competition London.
Als Mitglied der Jungen Oper bzw. des Internationalen Opernstudios der Staatsoper Hannover war Darwin Prakash ab der Spielzeit 2019/20 u. a. in den deutschen Erstaufführungen von Denis & Katya und in humanoid zu erleben.
Seit der Spielzeit 2022/23 ist Darwin Prakash Mitglied des Opernensembles der Staatsoper Hannover, wo er wichtige Rollendebüts gab als Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia und Marcello in La Bohème, als Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Chou En-lai in Nixon in China, als Herzog von Albany in Aribert Reimanns Lear und Conte Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro.
Zu seinen Engagements gehören darüber hinaus Belcore (L’Elisir d’amore) beim Waterperry Opera Festival, Geronimo (Il Matrimonio segreto) am Royal Opera House Mumbai, Chou En-lai (Nixon in China) an der Staatsoper Stuttgart und Minos (Arianna in Creta) beim London Händel Festival.
