Stefano Bollani, one of today’s most versatile and inventive pianists, was born in Milan in 1972 and grew up in Florence. The list of his collaborations ranges from big jazz names like Chick Corea and his long-time sponsor, trumpeter Enrico Rava, through world music artists such as Richard Galliano to avant-gardists like Michel Portal. Bollani plays modern jazz with as much flair as he does Gershwin and Ravel, and he also performs contemporary music by composers as diverse as Stravinsky and Frank Zappa.
