Nikki Grace, once a famous actress, is hired for a film project. Shortly before filming begins, she learns that it is a remake of an earlier version that was never completed due to mysterious deaths. But as she slips into her new character and begins an affair with her colleague, she seems to increasingly lose touch with reality and the boundary between the present and the past, fictional and real people and places.
