The basic idea was just to help children overcome their various difficulties at elementary school by bringing their parents into a special class with them once a week. But it turned out to be a course in togetherness for every participant - mother, father, or child. Adelina and her mother have a serious problem with their hierarchy. As Adelina put it: \\\"many people think we\\\'re sisters, because we fight like siblings\\\".Julien is small but explosive. He has already mastered his school-assignments - now he should learn to stop blowing his top when provoked by his everyday classmates. Tom is new in family-class and he has a good start, but he falls back when his class teacher starts using his family-class-grades to punish him. Motherless Duygu comes in last, after her first-grade teachers despaired of her sweet but unruly behaviour. She attends with her father who has high hopes for his only child. Multi-family-trainer Matthias Wack and special-needs-teacher Stefanie Sting are still developing their family-class - the first of its kind in Germany. \\\"A Family Class\\\" lets audiences see how the method works by watching the people involved talk, work, argue and develop into something stronger than what they have been.
