The man who was not there
Synopsis
Mr. Kremer's life looks tight and sad. He is unemployed and lives in a tiny flat in the middle of a big city. But if he goes within, he enters the portal to another world and embarks on a journey that he can less and less separate from the external world. An inner voice guides him and lets him predict numbers, which often leads to bizarre situations. The atmospheric film allows the viewer to participate, both in the floating perception of the protagonist, and in the discovery of his inner dimension.Cast & Crew

Biography
Julia Charakter (1984) was born in the Ukraine and grew up in Germany. During her studies in literature and media science, Julia started to write and direct short films in documentary and fiction form. After her Bachelor of Arts she started to work as a journalist for newspapers and magazines, and later as an editor and writer for several TV productions. After her Master of Arts graduation she decided to focus on film and writing and started studying FILM/ screenwriting at the ifs – internationals film school Cologne/Germany. Her short films were screened on international filmfestivals. On the 71. Filmfestival in Cannes she was selected by German Films as Next Generation. Since 2019 she is part of the Masterclass non-fiction of ifs/Cologne and the co-founder of the production company CHARAKTERFILM.Cast & Crew
